Last decade has seen the school move from one level to higher one. I have witnessed in our students an unparalleled knowledge base, a vibrant dynamism, an acute consciousness about the world around them, a focused ambition and a sustained commitment. I am also proud and pleased to have an experienced and committed team, which has brought the school to its present stature. I, along with my team of devoted workers and dedicated faculty, intend to build on this strong foundation and raise the standards in all spheres, to the zenith.
I agree with Burgess Wilson that the purpose of education is to fit us for life in a civilized community. To meet that end education one has to fulfill quantitative and qualitative needs of any society. Quantitatively, we may produce doctors, engineers, teachers, statesmen, and other professionals. Formal education can meet these needs. But the world is now assuming the shape of a global village. We are also to meet other human beings. Education must make us human and humane. Value based, qualitative education alone can make fit habitants on the globe. Our past shows that we are quarrelsome. Two wars are enough to hold testimony to our true self. We have yet to learn to live as respectable members of a community. I fully agree with Zarathustra who says : “ He who learns nothing from the past will be punished by the future.” Unless we improve by time, our beautiful civilization will fritter away, our tinsel world will turn into a dungeon. We will have to rise to the occasion and adapt our education to changing circumstances.
For me, Education does not mean providing answers. It means equipping the pupil with the means to find the answers for himself and within himself. Education empowers students to discover themselves-who they are as people. Within each student is a doctor, an engineer, a teacher, a social activist, a sports person, an environmentalist, a poet, an author or an economist. The teacher support them in channelizing resources vis-à-vis their dreams thus, sustainably generating civilized and productive human capital for serving our motherland.
We need to concentrate on ‘how to learn effectively’ than ‘how to teach effectively’. No child can be taught faster that he can learn. Technology is a great tool of modern age to save time and effort both. But it should never overshadow human intellect. Modern technology is evolving so rapidly that there is a situation of solutions seeking problems.
In my opinion, it is extremely important to provide children an environment of moral courage, spiritual realization and steady intellectual enlightment.
I look forward for your proactive co-operation and blessings of the Almighty in this great enterprise.
